Linking stylesheets in netscape question...

Hi Folks...

It's me again. I think maybe I didn't explain myself clearly before.

In my own coding to date I have used what appears to be the proper HREF
attribute. HOWEVER, on Netscape's own DevEdge Online HTML docs page it
describes the proper link for an external stylesheet as being:

<!-- link to an external style sheet -->
<LINK REL=STYLESHEET TYPE="text/css" SRC="styles/style1">

The link is:

http://developer.netscape.com/docs/manuals/htmlguid/index.htm

Ran my pages through bobby testing for Netscape 4.0 and 4.5. Both report
HREF as an unknown element error in the link tag.

Is Bobby right or wrong? Are Netscape's developer pages right or wrong? Did
Netscape finally accept the W3C standard for editions later than 4.5? Does
Netscape see an external style sheet referenced with <LINK HREF="?"> or not?
Is Netscape still playing compatibility games and trying to be the standard
setter itself?

Neither confused or annoyed, I am just puzzled. I would like my site to be
seen as I planned, prepared and hoped it would be seen. But I am rapidly
coming to the conclusion that certain things about this whole question make
me want to throw up my hands in disgust and say:

"I have done the best I can to sort out and deal with the differences. My
apologies to Netscape users. If you can enjoy my pages as I have designed
them, great. If not, tough cookies."

Thoughts, opinions and/or working examples as welcome as I can make them.
