category, Scroll down more until you find the option "Play Sounds in Web
Pages", and make sure that it is checked."

Thank you for your reply.  What you suggested made a lot of sense.
Something probably got disabled.  Unfortunately the "Play Sounds in Web
Pages" was already checked.  Do you have any idea what else I could do?
It's a serious problem for me.
