Hello Lori, > I have a centered background of a horse that should stay centered as you scroll down the page. It is working on my 15 inch screened Mac with OS9 using IE 5.1 at 800x600 resolution but in Netscape it doesn't show up at all on my computer. > > Also on other systems (Windows 98 using IE) it doesn't scroll in IE at all and a PC using IE with 17 inch screen at 800x600 resolution the horses feet are below the screen. > http://www.hammersmithhillthoroughbreds.com/ In a previous email I said that neither NN4 nor IE/Win support fixed backgrounds (fixed positioning for that matter.) Only IE/Mac (I don't know which versions), Mozilla, Netscape 6+ and Opera support fixed positioning. It will just scroll with the page in NN4 and IE/Win. Also in that previous email, I said that NN4 made a mess of the CSS and recommended that you hide the CSS from NN4 by using an ID, which you have done. > I have validated this page on W3.org and several other validators and I still can't find the problem. The problem is lack of support for CSS by the browsers. Somebody may know of a JavaScript workaround, but that would be the only way to emulate the fixed background. Tim
