I have to say something about this concept. I know that many clients are
trying to save money and many may be running a non-profit or no-profit
website like a personal website, but the concept of a client taking over
fails most of the time. If they needed a professionally built site, the
website is probably too complex for them to maintain. Issues like meta
tags, FTP, search engine placement, monitoring the site etc are a bit much
for professionals to understand, let alone a neophyte. What about the move
towards XML or ASP?
I do two free sites, one for my church and one for my wife's club.
Typically the edits are few and far between. Maybe this is one of those
things?
I don't allow others to work with sites I have authored anymore. They have
the bad habit of messing them up and calling at 9:30pm Sunday night to ask
for free help, or they mess it up and its an embarrasing surprise.
