Jim,

Accepting the credit card information itself does not require a merchant
account, but then you must have some way of processing the information.
Processing the information DOES require a merchant account. Either you can
do it all in "real time" and the money is automatically deposited into your
bank account, or you can accept the information through the form, and then
process it manually through a terminal.
