Director vs. Instructor II

Has anyone used either the Director 7 studio (Macromedia)? or Instructor II
(Asymetrix)?

I understand that they can create the graphical part of a presentation to
dist on cd or web based but I need some specifics to happen like calling out
to a database for login names, etc.

I also would like to know how easily they transfer to web based
presentations.

Anyone that can give me some feedback either w/ the group or personally
