validating a form that uses javascript

Hello,

Me again with another validation question.  You guys have been terrific so
far with everything that I've asked.

I have a form whose opening tag is the following:
<form name="temps" action="post">

The form uses javascript located in the "head" element of the web page.

The javascript has several lines that refer to the "document.temp" similar
to the following line:
        document.temps.AI.value / 12;

Here is my dilemma:  There is no "name" attribute for a form according to
the W3C.  However, the javascript uses the "temp" from the form to create
the document for it to process.  If I remove the name attribute from the
form, it will validate, however, the form will no longer work.

I am sure there is a way around this.  Does anyone know how to correct this?
