I hadn't responded to this before but Jim is right.  No matter how annoying
popunders are, they are effective which is why they are used so much.  I
have read that web users will tolerate ONE popup or popunder per site...any
more will cause them to avoid the site in the future.  In my case, I am
using a popunder for a web site for a boys home at my client's request.  The
popunder is a small window that says, "Thank you for caring..." and I don't
think people will be clawing at their monitors in rage when they see it!
