My only problem is that I am happy with the hosting provider I use and that
they are on UNIX servers and cannot support Cold Fusion sites unless I am
mistaken.

This has been the reason that I haven't purchased UltraDev.  I like UNIX and
prefer it as my server O/S.  I can pretty do whatever needs to be done from
scratch using PHP, but when transferring a site over that is already
designed in Cold Fusion, my options are severely limited.

Yep, .cfm indicates ColdFusion.  From what I understand, ColdFusion is not
hard to develop in, and is actually quite powerful.  PHP, ASP and CFM are
pretty much in the same playing field when it comes to data driven websites.

This may be an extremely simple question, but a search on the 'net returned
mounds of garbage - nothing at all related to what I was looking for.

My questions is this:  Does a ".cfm" extension indicated a Cold Fusion site?
I have a prospective new client that wants to switch his site to us for
hosting and I see that much of it is done with .cfm extensions.  I have done
a LOT of database type sites, but they've been  pretty much in MySQL with
PHP or in perl.
