Hi everyone,
Just felt the need to get this off my chest. I have noticed on a lot of
web pages at the bottom of the page is the HTML web guild logo as well as the
W3C HTML validator
[Unable to display image]. Putting this logo on your page is saying that you
have validated your page using W3C and your page is error free according to
the standards of HTML 4.0.
90% of the pages carrying this logo when run through the validator do not
come close to meeting this standard and have many many errors.
I think as members of the HTML Writers Guild we should respect and honor
those standards. We should not list credits on our pages that we have not
earned.
To those of you who have met these standards and display the logo, I
salute you. I have not been able to clean my sites up 100% yet (but I am
working on it).
To those of you (and you know who you are) who display this logo and have
not met the standards---Shame on you!
my 2 cents!
Sue
