Yes, the best way to protect yourself is to NEVER open ANY attachment unless
you KNOW what it is.  I cannot stress this enough.  My antivirus software
catches an infected email almost EVERY DAY, sometimes more than one a day.

The best way is to never open any attachment unless you are expecting it.
This includes emails from friends and family.  Secondly, keep your virus
software and virus library files up to date.
