Web page transitions

Hello:

I've searched the HWG archives and the web for effects that can 
occur when pages transition between themselves (Similar to what 
you can do within PowerPoint, Freelance, and other multimedia 
software), I came up drawing blanks. 

Do any of you know if this is possible and if so, send me info on 
the where, what, how, and why to accomplish this task? 
Specifically, I'm looking for a window-shutter opening effect from a 
solid black page that opens up to the actual home page.
