INFO: "FW: PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE READ! (fwd)" and "Sorry"

Hello everyone:

My name is Jen, and I am one of the List Guides for the basics email
list. The thread entitled "FW: PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESE READ! (fwd)" and
its child thread "Sorry" started with a Public Service Announcement
(PSA)/Warning.  Every response to the original PSA that has been sent
to the list has quoted the message.

Posting PSAs without prior approval is prohibited on all of the guild
lists. I direct the membership's attention to
http://www.hwg.org/lists/rules.html.  Quoting a message that
contravenes the rules is the same as breaking the rules yourself. 
The membership is by now probably well aware that the original
message was a hoax, which was passed onto the list membership.
There is no need to continue posting this information, nasty
comments, or apologies.  Please take further discussion to private
email.

Just a reminder, if you have an "Important Notice", "Public Service
Announcement", or "Virus Warning" like this that you feel the whole
list needs to know about, please follow the next few steps before you
send it to the list.

1) Check http://ciac.llnl.gov/ciac/CIACHoaxes.html to see if it is
actually a hoax - many messages that seem legitmate are hoaxes.
2) If it does not appear to be a hoax, please contact the list guides
at lg-basics(at)hwg.org and explain the situation, and ask if the
message should be posted to the list.
3) Wait for the response from the guides before doing anything.
