Thank for your comments, Bart:

I have optimized all the images. Most are around 328X282 pixels. 
So they aren't big, but they aren't small either. I have a combination 
of both text and image links for the mouseovers, the client won't 
budge on any of them when I have tried to suggest text only. I 
discourage myself from using the "hover" option since it is browser 
specific and not available on all browsers.

My main concern is in the contract...I'd hate to publish this page, 
have visitors complain to client, then have the client pull the "it's in 
your contract that you guaranty your work and how the page 
functions" card on me and make my life nasty. I guess it works 
and functions, just not at optimum speed.
