True enough. The problem isn't the background, it's marginheight and
marginwidth. Neither are part of the HTML 4.0 specification, so they won't
validate.
They also won't cause you any problems with older browsers, so I wouldn't
worry that they don't validate from a usability point of view.
Not everything you want to use will validate. The trick comes in knowing
which you can use without breaking browsers. 8^ )
