Hi Lori:

Interesting - the domain name was registered by Greg Gough who owned
Goughsoft Consulting which is now Alliance Software. Doing a little digging,
Alliance also lists Faithsite.com as a client. Faithsite.com offers "free"
websites to churches, Christian organizations, etc. Can I assume this is
where your christkitchen resides....?
Seems also that Greg Gough is the founder/CEO of Faithsite.com Worldwide
Network.
Going through the FAQs on the Faithsite.com site, I came up with this:
*************************************************************
I would like to have my own domain name in addition to
[myname].faithsite.com. Can I do this? How much does it cost?
We will register your domain name at our cost ($35, billed directly by
Network Solutions), and hosting for a redirect page under that domain name
that redirects to your FaithSite is only $10 per year! ($45/yr covers the
domain name plus the setup and hosting of your redirect page). Contact our
staff if you are interested in this service.
******************************************************************
It's a case of buyer beware - my antennae went up the moment I saw a
reference to the "redirect" page and "we will register..."
Also from their web site:
"FaithSite.com is supported by sponsorships, targeted and highly-filtered
advertising, and many other sources of revenue."
You've lost the right to that domain name - but you now have a "free"
website. That's what your client wanted.
Business is business....
