Problems With Aligning Images Along Side Of Website

Hi all,

I'm having a big problem with placing images on either side of my webpage. 
Check my site out at http://www.geocities.com/kittidiva/sample.html to see 
what I mean. I want to place ads on either the left or right side, but I 
don't know how to do this. I was trying to use tables, but I couldn't figure 
out the proper way to do it.  Please help me....I'm so frustrated by this! :-(
