Hi Shelley,
So much depends on for whom you will be using the clip art, I suppose and
what their tastes are but when I began redisigning the web pages I already
had I was concerned about making them as original as possible.
Customizing... so I started creating my own. Having use of a digital
camera is a great boost. You can gather photos of anything you want. No
problem with copywrite and permission. I obtain permission for photos of
people and often choose not to use names or fitst named only if they are
children. People have such varied concepts of the www.

I'm using a Mac so I know these programs best but I found that, even though
I sadly lack artistic skills I CAN create my own images (clip art) and
backgrounds and buttons and use my own photos, also for special effects.

I think you would be very happy if you began experimenting and developing
your own images.

Paint Shop Pro is a favorite of many Windows users. There are online
classes for that program.

That is waht I recommend. Don't be timid about trying. I do know that
when you view web pages you created using only your own graphics it is very
rewarding and....there will be no other page just like it.

If you have the time and interest you may want to look at the photo I took
from which I created the background and buttons for the web page at:
http://www.pilgrimunited,org/

Fotunately this work is voluntary but the folks say they like the look.
A printout of this page is now posted on a bulletin board in a local church
in Chile. We have it partially translated into Spanish and that project
continues before I can begin to place the translated pages onto the www.

Try your own hand with graphics.

TTFN,
Lois Duckworth
