Business relationships - Advertising agencies

We have a number of agencies in our area, some big (30+ peps) to small (3
peps) and some do Web Design all in house and some just small brochure
websites.  we are looking to build up a relationship with an established 3-5
pep web design company/agency for SEO work and also an agency that does just
a little web work and could refer work onto us for anything more advanced.

As in all relationships something has to go the other way.  Could members
comment on their relationships  with  advertising agencies, how they built
them up and the results (without being to specific of course :-)
