The reason pricing is not discussed is because in the US it is illegal
and the HWG could be sued on the grounds of "price fixing".

WHAT IS PRICE FIXING?
Most state statutes provide that fixing the price of a product or
service in agreement with another individual or business is illegal. The
general rule provides that a vendor may not in combination with another
vendor agree to set a certain price thereby creating a fixed price
within a certain market. A business acting on its own and not in concert
with another may use legitimate efforts to obtain the best price they
can, including their ability to raise prices to the detriment of the

So this is why we cannot discuss prices. Take a look on google for
"price fixing" and you will find tons of articles about people being
sued left and right for this. Its also HWG list rules as well.

Why do you suggest that we not mention price or if we have something
negative to say we do so off list? I, for one, would rather know if
product A is OK for the low price but if you want reliability you should
go to product B. Well, low price is going to be a relative term on this
list I am sure. I would like to know what 'low price' means. 

If we are truly going to revive this list for actual business
discussions, I think we should be able to talk about things in business
terms and business terms involve discussions about price as well as
negative observations about products.
