Domain name issueby "Jennifer Johns" <jennifer(at)nubbledesigns.net> |

I hope someone here can help me out. I'm the middle of the mess and am trying not to get too involved. I had a client whose business was made up of two people. These two people have since gone their separate ways. Person 1 owes person 2 a lot of money and they are currently battling this out long distance through attorneys. I started this business relationship with person 1, and she signed the contract and her name is on the hosting account and the domain name. She paid for everything. However, person 1 is now paying the hosting fees (although the setup has already been paid). In a few months, the domain name is due to be renewed. Person 2 does not want to let person 1 have this domain name until he pays her the many thousands of dollars that he owes her. She is prepared to pay me the money to renew the domain name so that person 1 cannot have it. This would result in person 1 finding and paying for a new domain name, and it would cause person 1 to pay a new setup fee for a new hosting account (the hosting accounts are by domain name). Since neither of them have lawyers who are at all internet savvy, I'm wondering if any of you have any thoughts on how I should proceed. Person 2's name is on all the accounts, but person 1 is now paying for the hosting. Any thoughts? Thanks, Jennifer Jennifer Johns Nubble Designs www.nubbledesigns.net jennifer(at)nubbledesigns.net
