Bad Experiences

General kinda question: what's the best way to find out if others have
had a bad hosting experience with a particular company, and what are
the limits of making a bad experience known without sacrificing
professional or personal integrity? (Let me know if this doesn't make
sense and I'll try to rephrase.)

The basic thrust is that I feel completely screwed (to put it
non-technically) by a hosting provider, and I thought about creating
a page discussing these experiences for the benefit of others (so they
might avoid similar experiences) but am unsure whether that's a good
thing to do. As a web page designer/provider/whatever is there a way
to go about providing this type of information, or does it tend
towards being unprofessional?
