Hello All,

I'm also a one person shop but in Victoria, BC and right now business is
not bad. Not a full time job yet but I'm only just beginning to get back
into it again (two moves and two new cats). All of my clients have come
through referrals but I am starting to advertise. What I find really
helps to get clients is to help them understand why they want a website,
what they can reasonably expect for it and then figure out a long term
sort of plan (a very loose plan because nothing ever does go to plan). By
then they have spent some time with you and there is a bit of a bond. I
look at as a "It's in my best interest for your business to have a
successful website because then there is money for more website work."
They see my motivation for doing a good, timely job on their site and,
of course, it helps that I charge about 1/2 to a 1/3 less than the other
  companies in town.

Does having advertising on your car actually help?

cheers,
