I'd have to agree with Ivan here. But I'll add one additional comment. 
There is considerable difference between "having an idea" and 
having a demonstratable product to show potential investors. While 
you're persuing the legal avenues to protect your idea, build a rough 
"Proof of concept" working version of your idea. This way, once you 
have all your legal bases covered, you will have something to show 
potential investors.
