The primary reason many people choose to incorporate is to gain the
advantage of "limited liability," that is, to avoid putting their personal
assets at risk in conducting business. But there are many other factors to
consider (such as tax consequences and flexibility), types of entities to
choose from (such as LLCs, or limited liability companies) and rules to
live by (such as maintaining the "corporate identity").
