I decided to do the same thing as a web programmer. My contracts included a
one year warrantee, stating that if any flaws were found in my work I'd
repair it gratis from one year after acceptance.

My reasoning was that I know my code is top of the line, and if something
was wrong I'd not only keep my client satisfied but also improve my
technique by making the repair. I think this is an unusual warrantee in
software.

OTOH, there's the offer of free phone help to a certain number of hours
that came with my purchase of Adobe Photoshop. I never took them up on
this, because I found enough resources on the web and colleagues and
managed to learn what I needed to know that way. Which is I believe a
benefit of working in such a friendly environment, plus the fact that
Photoshop is so well used... and such a high quality product.
