Wow. A couple of dozen responses -- and all excellent. Thanks to everyone.
Some conclusions:
- I'm not alone! Several reported same problem -- once the old e-mail
address no longer works, changing your records at NSI is exceedingly
difficult. And quite a few reacted with stories of frustration. It's
like dealing with a government agency.
- Best route for me will be to reinstate the old e-mail addresses --
which, fortunately, I can do; then make the change.
- There is also a fax form designed for this kind of situation (
http://www.networksolutions.com/makechanges/fax/contact.html ). You
need to provide evidence you are who you say you are. Detailed
instructions at end of this message. Linda Titus provided a more
thorough method and a special form -- contact me if you would like
this.
- Many people gave me various phone numbers -- apparently they dug
through NSI's site more effectively than I did. Many advised that one
should expect long waits.

800.721.3000 (Pay by CC)

1-703-742-0914 (Outside U.S.)
- General agreement their systems are maddening, especially the moat
they have around reaching anyone. If what you want to do is designed
into their systems, no problem; but deviations form standard are
inconvenient at best.
- And to the question, "Anyone know how to reach a human at Network
Solutions?" Mark Loewenberg gave me my grin for the day with,
"yeah....don't pay your bill for a while!!!"
