Critiques of The Goodhue Galleryby "Jeff Whyle" <jeff(at)hawkfan.com> |
|
Group: Thank you for all your comments on my website. The majority of the criticisms dealt with my use of a scrolling task bar to instruct about the site navigation. Many of you found this to be a distraction and a misuse of the task bar. Well, I'm flexible. I'm willing to try something different. In the Lobby of the site, I've gotten rid of the scrolling task bar and added a button operated scroll box. Please bear in mind that I need something without much height because I have some pages with horizontal scrolls (which I under no circumstances want to kick on the vertical scroll bar), and I want to keep the navigation instructions consistent throughout the site. I only changed the one Lobby page because I want to know that you all think. Is this better, or worse (as in more distracting from the images)? I'm certainly willing to go back and switch the navigation on all the pages I have up now (as I did after a suggestion about making my alt tags more informative and less descriptive), but I've got the images ready and am about to build 3 more gallery rooms (including adding a second floor) and I don't want to have to go back and do ALL that over again. I, personally, still lean toward the scrolling task bar. It's farther away from the main viewing area. But, I need some more opinions. Please??
