So would you like an honest opinion? :)

Truth be told, the site is too garish, busy and hard to read.

The red jumps out and stings the eyes.  The layout of the pictures gives
the impression of disjointedness.  It makes the site appear
disorganised.  Unfortunately, it tends to make the site look amateurish.

No clear navigational focus makes it difficult to decipher what to do
and where to go on the site.

And ditch the pop-up vote box.  Pop-ups are an annoyance that most
people despise.

Change the red heading background to something less intense.  With those
bright red areas, the eyes will be strained by the bright colours and
will make reading the site a chore instead of a pleasure.  It is the red
bars that tend to make the sire look disjointed and unkempt.

It is certainly understood that you would like to use patriotic colours
on the site, but I think it is too much colour.

Try some sort of separation colour between the columns to assist the eye
by guiding it along the information.

This is a first impression on the Home Page.
