Elias made some good points here and I agree totally, but I'd like to add my
two sense into it.

first off Kurt I'm going to assume a few things here. first off I'm pretty
sure you can work a computer competently, and that you know how the internet
works. Second I'm going to assume that your first website will probably be
like everyone else's first website, basic and fun. If this is the case you
could make you site in word and export it, MS publisher and export it, or
buy a $200 WYSIWYG publisher and publish it that way. any way you do it it's
going to be your site and you should be happy with it to a point. Since
you've read a book and know some little basic's I'd recommend that you use a
WYSIWYG editor at first. make a few very basic pages. then open the files in
a text editor like notepad and read the code. from here pick at the code and
learn why a <Br> tag cause you to start a new line. it's only when you know
the code and can read it like music that you can truly build wonderful
sites. I got stuck in the WYSIWYG world for awhile there and it wasn't till
I went out and played and got involved in Lists like this that I started to
open up the OLE textpad again. WYSIWYG is great to lay the foundation but I
wouldn't build a house on it till I looked for cracks.
