Hi:

I don't get involved a lot because I am usually too busy. However I think I
will here. Please remember I'm a Virgo and being objective and picky :-)
This is meant to be helpful without lacing everything with floral fragrance!

Someone suggested you display some examples of your work. I would have to
agree. For two reasons. If I'm paying for a FLASH presentation I want it
to look good and want to see what your work looks like before I send
anything your way. I might also want to contact the company you did work
for to get further information regarding your delivery of service.

Your mission statement talks about your priority being creativity. You are
all about creativity and your customers should have the ultimate in web
design. My question here is simple, who are you trying to convince? You
have not convinced me and I think many of the others that have responded.
This is not being negative but factual.

I have not seen your FLASH work but I have seen your site. I have not seen
other sites designed by your group. All I have to base my decision on is
what you have provided on this site to view. And what do I see?

In your site I see very basic and simple coding, layout and design. I do
not see a professional looking web site. The basic grey and blue with black
text and no custom graphics, well thought out leave me wondering about how
professional your group truly is. Your FrontPage 4 coding says it went
through the mill and your prices at $25.00 per page are not reasonable, they
are unrealistic unless you are delivering the caliber of site I'm looking at
and then I can see how you might get away with charging twenty five dollars
per page. Too me, you get what you pay for. I would pay $200.00 per page
or more for good design before I would pay $25.00 for what you display on
your site without professional, well designed work.

Once again, I'm not trying to be negative but realistic. Companies are more
savy these days and can more often tell the difference between good, fair or
poor work.

Here is my suggestion to you. If all of your web site design is similar to
what you have on this site, you should do several things. Visit some sites
that have been praised by the members of HWG. Compare the graphics, design,
layout, colour schemes and coding. Be honest with yourself and rate your
work in comparison. If you are not good at design, colours or creative
ability get someone that is to rate it for you! Identify your strengths and
weaknesses and make sure you have members of your group that compliment each
other. If you are better at coding but want to be an artist and have little
ability, be honest with yourself! Make sure the right people are doing the
right jobs.

Don't promise clients everything outstanding and the best you can get if you
can't deliver, especially if you are giving away the work at unusually low
prices. If your work is not top notch and your customers finally figure it
out they will be gone. Worse than this they will think all other design
companies are the same. You end up doing inferior work for limited funds,
develop a reputation for this and find yourself looking for ways to make
money! Know your limitations and deliver what you do best.

Yep! This was long but I hope it was useful.

Sincerely
Rob Mellor
