Re: Single Page Critique - a thank you

I wanted to thank all you for the great ideas, comments and thoughts you
have sent in the past two days.  You are all really terrific and much
appreciated.  About 95% of all the e-mail I received was that people liked
the photo.  The three top responses were 1) it made me smile  2) it made me
laugh and 3) it made me want to read the information.

It probably made it more confusing for some not knowing what the site is
about and going directly into the page with no ideas.  The type of people
that will be going to this site are one that are suffering from different
types of chronic pain.  I didn't want to make the site look sad/depressing
for people that already have enough sadness.  That is the reason that I did
a few silly things...like the hippo photo.

One of the suggestions, which came from another list, was to add the text
under the  photo:  "There is a reason hippos bathe so much--they require it
to stay cool and healthy."  When I put that little caption in it made all
the difference...it tied the photo and text together in a way that made
sense.
