Ouch! That hurt! I always thought my opinion DID count and was important.
Why would I waste my time reviewing a site for you after you just told me
that my opinion doesn't *really* matter? My time and opinion are valuable.
BTW, I agreed with everything else that you said. "Beauty is in the eye of
the beholder", but I like to believe that the people on the list are experts
since we view far more web pages than the average bear and hopefully are
somewhat "schooled" in site design, layouts, color, html, navigation etc.
In fact, this is why I get troubled with all the would-be site designers
that offer "6 page sites for $350". They can't (and don't if you view their
portfolio) produce quality at those rates and the poor consumer is not
always very knowledgeable about the requirements for a quality site and how
this will effect traffic and people's perception of their product. As most
of us know (and every designer should know) a quality site does have eye
appeal, but it has a heck of a lot more too.
