Hi Amy,

I like the simplicity and the neatness, the fact that you have refrained
from using every colour and font you could lay your hands on. It looks
quite neat and professional.

Since you are presenting yourself as a professional designer, I will be as
critical as possible:

Home page:

1. It's not clear whether you are looking for freelance/contract work or
full-time employment. As a prospective client/employer I would not know
whether to contact you or not. (I see that your resume does make this
clear, but I had to look for the info.)
2. Why are the links on the home page presented differently from those on
the other pages?
3. I don't think it's necessary to have both a "contact" link *and* an
"email" link.
4. This is a very personal site - you've chosen to brand it with your own
name rather than a company name - so why not include something about
yourself, and a picture? Unobtrusively, of course.

Portfolio:

1. "The Portfolio of Amy Velazquez" - I think your identity has been
well-established on the home page, no need to belabour the point.
2. "I have eight years experience in print design..." - you have already
said exactly this on the home page. It's more appropriate for the resume
page anyway.
3. Why no samples of print work? I wouldn't want to go to the trouble of
an interview just to see what you can do.
4. Why include this very site as an example of what you can do? It's
redundant.
5. From someone with 2 years of web design experience I'd expect to see
more than 4 sites (only one of which appears to be for a "real" -
non-family - client). I know that's difficult - my own portfolio is sparse
because of clients "revamping" their sites or redoing them, but try to
find a bit more work to show. Why not include the Mercedes Homes site, and
the others that you've worked on?
6. You have 2 additional links in the nav bar that don't appear on the
home page, why? Are they different from the other links? They look the
same.

Overall, very nice, and much more impressive than many of the other
"professional" web designers I've seen out there. You really must do
something with your portfolio though - the lack of substance is the only
thing that would put me off hiring you.
