Critique of: http://www.photobooks.com/~poof/update/index.html

Hello fellow listmembers,

I'm currently updating my site, and would like everyone to take 
a look at this site:
<a href="http://www.photobooks.com/~poof/update/index.html">Word Play</a>

I have not coded the graphical navigation yet, so don't worry about 
the fact that my buttons and mouseovers don't all work. This is 
something I'm saving for the very last, when I move these pages 
from the "update" directory into the regular web site...

This site *does* have scroll bar at 800X600. I'm aware of this.. there's 
obviously one at 640X480 too.. I'm working on making the graphic interface 
smaller without sacrificing detail.

If you'd like to see the original layout (look past the index page) take a

My main concerns are:
1) download time
2) general impressions on aesthetics
3) layout tips
4) text-based navigation working
5) anything else you notice
