Hmm, I'd hate to view this site on a modem link!  You have a huge 
background image on your front page which would take forever to 
download.

The quote which opens a new window ("city of the big shoulders") 
fails to scroll on my browser.

Your employers site looks great, very nice and clean, easy to 
navigate, although I can't help but feel that you've got the Flash 
anim and Java applet there because you can, rather than for any 
specific purpose.  The lake applet in particular doesn't provide any 
functionality and is getting a bit cliched now :o).

Again, I'd be a bit worried about image download time.  Same 
applies to your knowledge seekers site.

Generally the site design is clean and elegant.  I like it, but I'd be 
wary about image size and unnecessary bits and bobs.
