Thanks, this is the sort of thing that I was worried about.  I don't 
want people getting lost and giving up.

No, I do actually mean "class of course" (as in /type/ of course).  
It's awkward because there are two places where I use the term 
"course" meaning different things: course as in baseline or further 
unit, and course as in standard or IT test, so I'm just trying to 
differentiate between them.  I guess that it's a 'subtype' of the 
course.

I've tried rewriting that to something a bit less clumsy.
