I believe that the original question was related to using EXACT spacing
between words and periods. The spacing used fluctuates for different types
of fonts, font sizes, etc. and can be dependent on a wide variety of
factors. HTML was designed not for doing exact spacing or layout as can be
done in print media but rather for interpretive handling of markup code
thereby making it OS independent. Stylesheets make it much more possible to
do exact spacing and layout but are limited in their support.

The non-breaking space tag mentioned earlier by me is a way to insert extra
relative space but not exact space.

Does this make sense?
