Which brings me to another question... how the heck do I apply filters to
text layers on Photoshop 5? I have tried to apply eyecandy filters, but
they are all grayed on the menu =/
-Nathalie
Nathalie,
To apply filters to the text:
1. make sure you're operating in RGB mode and not indexed color or greyscale
2. make sure your text is selected
- use the magic wand to select the text
- use the magic wand to select the area around the text and invert
- use Select\Color Range - best option
3. while you may or may not get an error message about this, it's the one
thing that'll prevent your filters from working
- make sure to uncheck the "Preserve Transparency" box in the layers menu
That's it - just apply the filters now and they should work. If you have
further problems I'll be glad to walk you through them - just drop me a note
