Limited experience in print apps, but here goes.
1. Keep your resolution high. At least 300 dpi, but higher if possible -
you will be able to scale down later if need be.
2. Talk _directly_ to the printer. Chances are your client won't know
enough about printing to tell you the info you need.
3. tiffs are popular on Mac's, but be ready to use something slightly
different. Access to a Mac might be helpful to preview the files if you are
doing the work on a PC. You never know what the file might look like.
Better to be safe than sorry.
