After listening to this thread for the Last several days, I am completely
shocked! No, not at you Ken (quit smiling Ken), but at the list guides.
After being a Police Officer for 18 years, I can assure you I am not shocked
at people using such language and attitudes. In fact, It is those attitudes
that give the police job security. Ken, himself stated that it was his
intention to offend -
Ever heard of the word "troll"
Know what it means??
Mission accomplished.
I would like to point out that in any 'civilized society', it is the members
of that society that decide what is acceptable conduct, not totally self
centered, arrogant and obnoxious people like Robin Socha and ken Woods. Yes,
this is the internet; but, even here, there is acceptable and unacceptable
behavior.
This list is supposed to have such guidelines. We are often reminded by the
list guides of such immensely important rules such as 'don't mention prices'
don't ask someone to critique your web site. Yet, they choose to tolerate
offensive attitudes and language in violation of their own rules. We are
often reminded by them to read the rules. Their rules specifically state
" Posting extremely foul or abusive language aimed at a fellow list
member is forbidden. This includes obscenities, verbal harassment,
or comments that would prove offensive based on race, religion, or sexual
orientation. (Determination to be made by the List Guides and/or List Guide
Manager.) Our mailing lists are rated PG-13."
PG-13? I wonder if the list guides know what that means, but I am sure that
Robin and ken don't. They either don't know or don't care. Either way, the
result is the same. Is this selective enforcement?
I guess it boils down to principals. we all claim to have principals yet,
don't often choose to live by them. I, for one, do not choose to be
associated with a list that condones such attitudes and behavior.
You can either unsubscribe Robin and Ken, or unsubscribe me. I really don't
care which. ......
On second thought, never mind, I'll unsubscribe
myself.
