I've used a Wacom graphics tablet for several years and find it helpful in
many aspects and a hindrance in others. But I guess no product is 100%
effective in every circumstance.
A graphics tablet is a mouse interface device that allows you to use a
stylus or other pointing device to move the cursor and activate mouse
activity features (i.e.: clicking and such) By moving the stylus (what I
use) above the tablet, it moves the cursor. Touching the tablet activates
the clicking features and moving it while touching allows drawing and
dragging, etc., depending on the program you're using.
It is very much like a "touch pad" on a laptop, but larger, but does not
function by fingertip, but instead by stylus or pointer.
This is very basic, but I hope it is somewhat informative.
