Fireworks, curved joined lines, and AAGH!

Hi.

I'm just getting to grips with Macromedia Fireworks, and have hit (another)
snag, so, following the sterling help that this list has shown me in the
past, I'm asking for some help - again!

I'm building a graphic for a paintballing company, but have a prblem. In
building the image, the scroll that backs onto some text isn't playing ball.
I'm trying to get it to fill, and getting weird effects each time. I've
tried joining, combining, the lot; I get a bloody wierd effect, and not what
I was looking for at all.

Please note that I'm on the DIGEST version of this list. Any help that you
can give in resolving this problem would be gratefully recieved!
