Wacom Intuos

I know that this is not on topic but I am totally desperate.  Has anyone
tried the new Wacom Intuos Tablet?  I can not for the life of me get it to
work right.  I have downloaded all the new patches, updates, etc, and it
still will not work right.  It freezes up, wont recognize tools, just does
not work.  I would appreciate if anyone else encountered anything like this
that they would please let me know how they solved this.  Thanks much.
