Greetings all.
I am a true Corel Believer too.
I tried Adobe Products but could not figure out the interface.=20
This is rather strange since I am the type of computer "expert" which =
will learn on the fly how to use almost any software (with the possible =
exeption of german software). Just put me in front of a computer with a =
new software (without a manual) and in a couple of hours or days I am =
rocking.
As said I was nevertheless unable to use Adobe Photoshop or Adobe =
Imageready. The interface was just "to strage" to me (?!). I guess it =
is a question of getting used to it.
(I am sure Photoshop is also an excellent program)
When I first used Corel Photopaint 7 I could almost immediately create =
quiet average looking graphics. Now I have a solid background on =
creating optimized web graphics on Photopaint 8 and it is a pleasure to =
work with it.
When I read tutorials on Photoshop I often can not help myself but think =
"What the hell.... " Why on earth is it so complicated to do a certain =
effect in Photoshop?
For example I read a tutorial on how to create the X-Files green halo =
effect. It was a quite extensive tutorial. In Photopaint I am able to do =
it in just ONE (1) step.
=20
Or the tutorial on the image map that was posted on this list a little =
while ago. It looked so twisted and complicated. Believe me in =
Photopaint it is WAY easier to create imagemaps if I compare it with =
that tutorial. ;-)
=20
I am planning to write a book (most probably on CD-ROM) about creating =
special effects on Corel Photopaint 8. Should anyone consider a specific =
graphic topic or effect worthwhile to write about just let me know, =
maybe I'll write about it.
=20
;-)
