No joke. I would be 100% CSS right now if it weren't
for Netscape. According to the stats on all my domains,
and my clients domains, one third of all the visitors
are on Netscape. MSIE is my personal fav., but NN
is something I, as well as any designer, MUST cater
to.

I'm surprised with NN. Even on their latest versions,
I still have to do a ton of work to get my site to be
100% compatible. Sometimes it never even hits
that mark.

I'll use Dreamweaver 2.0 or Frontpage 98, and have
problems in NN. I'd take Opera 3.51 over NN 4.08
(or whatever's newest). I also noticed that in
Dreamweaver, you have far more behavior options
for MSIE 4.0+ over NN 4.0+.

HTM/HTML

Gatesism? I don't care. I have a lot of respect
for the guy. He worked his way from my status
to the top. I'm usually very happy with Microsoft
products as well, so... pfft!

Agreeing with one comment: lowercase is the way
to go for all web use... code and URLs.

Agreeing with another comment: While it's good
to have a head full of HTML, DHTML, and JavaScript,
today's WYSIWYGs are choice. It is essential
to know what the code means, but when a client
wants "this moved over here", or, "just throw this
picture in here, next to the text", it's good to be able to
be on the phone with him/her and say, "OK, hit 'Refresh'".

If these programs are the way to go, and they are
generating the HTM extension, well... then I guess
HTM it is.

W3 may disagree with some things, but I'm going
to go with what is most efficient.

They want CSS, but until Netscape wises up,
my margins are in the <body>.

They want HTML, but until programs default
to HTML... HTM it is.

Sorry... :o(
