With my monitor the only way to go higher than 16 bit (to 24 bit) is to have
a screen resolution of 640x480 and there are no new drivers to fix this, so
I stick with 16 bit in favor of a better screen resolution.

I think it's a good sampling of what's out there in the non-techie masses.
800x600 103 55.37%
1024x768 45 24.19%
640x480 29 15.59%
1152x864 3 1.61%
1280x1024 3 1.61%
Other 2 1.07%
1600x1200 1 0.53%
What I didn't like was the screen colors:
16 Bit (65K) 92 49.46%
8 Bit (256) 39 20.96%
32 Bit (16.7M) 31 16.66%
24 Bit (16.7M) 20 10.75%
Other 4 2.15%
Just thought I'd throw this out for your info.
