On a slightly different note:

Has anyone ever had this experience in PSP 5 with transparent colors in
an image that is already saved to file -

Set transparency and then save gif but transparency info isn't retained?

Work around is set transparency, then "Save As (F12)" and save the image
as its own filename, choosing "yes" when prompted to overwrite original
file.

This is something I've noticed often especially (perhaps only) when
setting transparency for images which were chopped up for use in a
table.\

The workaround is easy enough but I don't quite understand why there is
any difficulty in the first place.
