automatic resizing or compression

Hello!

Is anyone using a server-side application that automatically resizes photos
to a certain pixel height and width? I'm working on a dynamic program for my
clients so that their advertisers can automatically upload pictures to the
server. Because they choose certain templates, I'd like the program to
automatically resize the photo to fit the layout.

(Granted, I know the results can turn out grainy or pixelated, but I'd like
to try it)

Any help you can provide is appreciated!
