Drop Shadows in PSP

Hi guys and gals,

Can anyone tell me how to add a drop shadow to an entire picture in PSP 5?

You have to select an area of the image in order to be able to select Edit
from the Image menu, but if you select the entire image, well... there's no
canvas left for the shadow!

I tried resizing the canvas and, while that seemed to work with what I
thought would be a transparent border (it looked right in PSP), when I saved
it and viewed it in IE 4, my "border" was black rather than transparent, so
of course you couldn't notice whether there was a shadow there or not.
